START: Arrochar and Tarbet station, G83 7DB, 56.203428, -4.722889
FINISH: Crianlarich station, FK20 8QN, 56.389634, -4.617805
DISTANCE: 21.5 miles/34.6km
TERRAIN: Technical forest tracks, boulder fields and old military roads. Apart from the lower slopes of Ben Vorlich and the climb to Crianlarich it’s relatively flat, along valley floors and loch-side paths.
NAVIGATION: Straightforward. The Three Lochs Way through Glen Loin is signposted from Arrochar and Tarbet station, with the Cowal Way joining it from the south-west. At Inveruglas Water make sure you don’t follow the Cowal Way all the way into Inveruglas; look for two buildings where a track on the left takes you onto Ben Vorlich above the power station. The West Highland Way is well signposted and easy to pick up at Ardleish Farm pier. OS Landranger 56 covers most of the ride, except Crianlarich which can be found on Landranger 50.
