Ride 10: Finding Efrafa

Ride Information

START: Bedwyn station, The Knapp SN8 5RD, 51.380035, -1.598998

FINISH: Overton tation, Station Hill RG25 3JG, 51.253480, -1.258779

DISTANCE: 24.0 miles/38.6km

ASCENT: 2162ft/659m

OFF-ROAD: 85%

TERRAIN: Stone, chalk, grass and dirt bridleways and byways, and occasional country lanes. After a sharp climb to the downs the trail is smooth and undulating.

NAVIGATION: Easy. The Wayfarer’s Walk and other local routes are waymarked along most of this ride and it is all bridleway and byway. The only problem can be finding the diagonal path up Inkpen Hill and its continuation through crop fields at the top of the hill. The gated bridleway up the slope is hidden beneath an overhanging tree. Once up the slope keep the fence-line on your left. Use OS Landranger 174.
