OFF-ROAD: 70%
TERRAIN: Stony bridleway, country lanes, minor roads, forest singletrack. Mostly flat and straight, slightly hillier and more technical towards Thetford Forest.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Harling Road station is just a mile detour if you cut the Peddars Way a few miles short and Thetford is 12km from the end at Knettishall Heath, if you wish to remain car-free.
NAVIGATION: Easy. The Peddars Way is waymarked from start to finish. There is a brief byway deviation that will take you off the route at Ringstead, where it becomes a footpath. So too at North Pickenham, where it is best to continue through the village, turn right onto Houghton Lane and right again to re-join the Peddars Way, avoiding a section of footpath and stiles through the fields near Meadow Farm. OS Landranger maps 132 and 144 cover the route.
